The Powel Logo
The logo consists of the signature ‘Powel’ and a corresponding symbol. The symbol is based on Powel’s old logo – a ringed planet. The symbol has been further abstracted to ensure that it will work well on all surfaces and when using various manufacturing techniques. The Palanquin font has been used as the basis for the signature, but has been optically adjusted for use in the logo. The signature must never be replaced with only the font.
The Powel logo varies only in colour. The prioritisation of use is as follows: Blue logo with white background, white logo with blue background, white logo with black background. A black logo with a white background shall only be used if it is not possible to render the logo in colour.
On certain surfaces, it is possible to use only the logo symbol (without a background). However, in such cases an example of the logo with signature should be included on the printed matter / UI design. One example of this may be a multipage printed matter project, where the full logo is used on the cover and only the symbol is used in vignettes.
Example of exceptions include, e.g., designs on cups (where there is no natural surface on which to use the logo + signature), when only the symbol is used.

Protected Area and Minimum Usage Sizes
The logo shall stand alone, without being disturbed by other elements. There are defined minimum distances from the logo to surrounding elements, in order to ensure that the logo is surrounded by enough ‘air’ to look good in a layout.
We use the letter ‘w’ in the signature to calculate the protected area.
Minimum Usage Sizes
To ensure that the logo is reproduced well, two sets of
minimum measurements have been defined for use in printed matter and on screens.
Print media: Minimum height of 2.5 mm.
Digital surfaces: Minimum height of 18 px
Correct Logo Use
01: The Powel logo shall appear only in the colour ‘Powel blue’. All use of gradients and effects shall be avoided. 02: It is possible to insert the logo in white on a blue background. 03: The logo may be placed over images, but make sure the image provides sufficient contrast. 04: In cases where the background colour is black, the logo shall be set to white. 05: A black logo with a white background shall only be used if it is not possible to render the logo in colour.
Incorrect Logo Use
01: The logo shall never appear in a colour other than blue, white or black. 02: The logo shall never appear in black on a blue background. 03: The same colour shall always be used for the symbol and the signature in the logo. 04: All stretching and distortion of the logo are forbidden 05: It is not permitted to create other variants of the logo or to change the placement of the symbol and signature. 06: It is not permitted to alter the proportions of the logo. 07: No individual logo variants may be created for departments. 08: On black backgrounds, the logo shall be set in white.
